Evans River

Evans River is approximately 20 km in length and the town of Evans Head is located at the entrance. The Evans River is connected to the Richmond River at Woodburn via the Tucombil Canal which is operated to mitigate flooding and improve drainage in the mid-Richmond River area.

Evans River is 727 km north of Sydney between Iluka and Ballina; 11 km south-east of Woodburn and just minutes from the Pacific Highway. Evans River is surrounded by Bundjalung and Broadwater National Parks. The river and sandy river flats encourage a range of water sports including windsurfing, fishing, and boating.
